William Paxton, MD, PhD

Group Medical Director, Trailblazers and Endeavor 

William Paxton, MD, PhD serves as the Group Medical Director for both the Endeavor and Trailblazers groups. Before joining DaVita, Dr. Paxton was a manager and physician partner at Georgia Nephrology. He began his clinical practice by founding Nephrology Medical Associates of Georgia, which later became the largest nephrology practice in Georgia. During the time of his clinical practice, he also served in many leadership roles including 4 years as chief of staff at Emory Johns Creek hospital.

Dr. Paxton received his medical degree, and his PhD in physiological and pharmacological sciences, from Emory University. He continued at Emory for his Internal Medicine residency and Nephrology fellowship. He studied Angiotensin II receptor signaling during his PhD and ADPKD during renal fellowship and maintains an interest in genetic kidney diseases.
