Ingredients
- 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon Calabrian chili paste
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
Preparation
- Juice the lemon. In a small bowl, combine lemon juice, Calabrian chili paste, and honey. Stir to combine.
- Slice each chicken breast in half so that you are left with 2 thin cutlets. Season with pepper on each side.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken to pan and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
- Once chicken is done, mince garlic and add to the pan and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add chili mixture and heavy cream and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Plate chicken and pour remaining sauce over chicken.
- Serve with rice as an option and enjoy! (rice is not accounted for in nutrients per serving).
Helpful hints
- Calabrian chili paste can be spicy. If you are sensitive to spicy food, you can reduce the amount of chili paste by half.
- If unable to find Calabrian chili paste, it can be substituted with chopped Calabrian chilis, a thicker chili sauce, or red pepper flakes.
