Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl. Add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Stir in the eggs and vanilla.
  4. Stir in the flour mixture.
  5. Pour batter into the baking pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until bars are set in the middle.
  6. Cut into 18 squares while bars are still warm.

Helpful hints

  • Store in an airtight container.
  • Add 1/2 cup butterscotch chips to the batter for extra sweetness and flavor.
