Helpful hints
- Make homemade dry breadcrumbs by toasting bread in the oven until dry and crisp. Process in a food processor or blender to make crumbs.
-
This mix keeps well in the freezer. Make extra for later use.
-
Try the following variations for additional flavors:
-
Beef or veal: add 1/2 teaspoon marjoram or oregano
-
Chicken: add 1/2 teaspoon thyme and ½ teaspoon sage
-
Pork: add 1/2 teaspoon dried tarragon or 1/4 teaspoon allspice.
