Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup onion
  • 6 Ritz® low-salt crackers
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 1/4 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • dash cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

  1. Finely chop bell pepper and onion. Crush crackers.
  2. Combine all ingredients listed above except the oil; shape into 6 patties.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook patties for approximately 4 to 5 minutes, or until browned. 
  5. Flip patties and cook other side until browned, about 4 minutes.
  6. Serve warm.

Helpful hints

  • Adjust seasoning to taste. Avoid adding additional ingredients that increase sodium content.
  • Fresh or pasteurized crab meat is the lowest in sodium. Frozen and canned crab meat usually has added sodium preservatives.
